Matthew Perry, the Poker Star!
My
favorite "Friend"! Matthew Perry is so funny I almost
can't watch him! So I was SO excited when I heard that he was a
big online poker player now - I've been waiting and watching and
hoping that he'll show up on Hollywood
Poker, but I suppose I've got to give it some time: he'll get
there eventually! Just like Kevin Nealon I though he was going to
make it a lot farther than he did after winning his tournament on
the Celebrity Poker Showdown, but - just like Kevin
Nealon - he was taken out of the Championship game by Mekhi
Phifer. Damn you, Mekhi!
In case you've been living under a rock (!), Matthew Perry played Chandler on NBC's "Friends," one of the most memorable and loved TV characters ever. But before all the fame he was just a regular kid growing up in Canada where he was a nationally ranked pro tennis player, just like Vince Van Patten used to be. When he was 15 he moved to LA where he kept playing tennis and became a nationally ranked tennis pro in the USA before he set his sights on acting. He's on "The West Wing" now with Martin Sheen and Rob Lowe, and has appeared in many movies including "The Whole Nine Yards" and "The Whole Ten Yards" with Bruce Willis and Natasha Henstridge and "Serving Sara" with Elizabeth Hurley and Cedric the Entertainer.
