Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker, Coming Soon
Usually a poker fan armed with a remote control has a few options when it comes to watching poker action on their television, but Fox Sports Network is giving them another choice. Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker is a new reality show that will follow the lives of poker professionals and up-and-coming players.
Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker is hosted by Calvin Ayre, who is the owner and founder of Bodog. The reality show will be co-hosted by 2003 Miss World Canada Nazanin Afshin-Jam and recording artist Nazanin.
Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker will hit television sets around the world on April 15th, airing every Saturday night at 11:00 p.m. EST.
"Poker and television -- combined with Bodog-style entertainment -- will make for one heck of a show, and our next step into the world of television," explained the show’s host Calvin Ayre.
The show will follow the journey of 40 poker enthusiasts, they range from professional players, celebrities and online poker players. Each show will follow the journey that each player goes through and the show will feature a poker game each episode with an eventual $500,000 grand prize.
Some of the stars signed up to be on the show include Josh Malina (West Wing), Willie Garson (Sex in the City), Jennifer Tilley, musician Willa Ford and Ultimate Fighting Champ Chuck "Iceman" Liddell. These celebrity players will have to face off against poker professionals like Phil Laak if they want to win the big prize.
With the current popularity of poker, Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker should be a hit. Many search engines report the word poker as being one of the most searched words on the internet.
