Camp Hellmuth, Camping for Poker Players

Campers at Camp Hellmuth do not spend much time roasting marshmallows, there more concerned about playing poker.

Camp Hellmuth offers everyday people a change to play and learn poker from some of the world’s best poker players. This year’s list included Phil Hellmuth, Fischman, TJ Cloutier, Mark Seif, Antonio Esfandiari, Thomas "Thunder" Keller, Cyndy Violette and John Bonetti.

The campers play real poker games for prizes against the pros and are able to get feedback on how they played the hand from the pros at the same time. Plus there are some bragging rights for stealing a pot from someone like Phil Hellmuth.

“I can tell my buddies that I won a pot from Phil Hellmuth and got away with a bluff on John Bonetti. I mean, that is crazy to me! And I learned so much that I know I'm going to start winning more," explained camper Douglas Kerns.

Hellmuth is really impressed by the success of the camp and feels that the campers are taking a lot away from the camp after they leave.

"The enthusiasm (from the campers) for the game is fantastic. There is a positive energy there. Everyone here loves the game. I love it."

Camp Hellmuth will run again in four to six months at Caesars Palace.
