Phil Ivey, Best Player of the Year
With so many professional poker players dominating tables around the world, it is hard to name one as the best. Bluff magazine decided to take on this task in their latest issue, they named Phil Ivey as their 2005 Player Of The Year.
The award is only one of many for the accomplished poker player. During his career he has won over $3.4 million in tournament earnings, 7 final tables; a World Series of Poker bracelet in $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha; a top 25 finish in the WSOP Main Event and a win at the 2005 Monte Carlo Millions.
"Phil Ivey has emerged as one of the best players of this generation. His focused play and success at the table have earned him Bluff's Player of the Year,” explained Eddy Kleid, Co-President of Bluff Magazine.
Ivey was already named to Black Enterprise magazine's Hot List of America's Most Powerful Players Under 40 this year.
