'Bachelor' star Andrew Firestone displays his poker prowess
Andrew Firestone, son of 3rd District Supervisor Brooks Firestone and a former star of the reality television show "The Bachelor," advanced to a grand-prize round of "Celebrity Poker Showdown" during Thursday night's episode, making him eligible to win 0,000 for a Goleta-based charity. "Can I get a diaper up here?" Mr. Firestone asked during the tense final moments of the match. Playing for Direct Relief International, Mr. Firestone was on top during most of the contest that featured cast members from reality TV programs. Airing on Bravo, the match took place at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth of "The Apprentice" claimed second place, Charla Faddoul of "The Amazing Race" third, Jonny Fairplay of "Survivor" fourth and Trishelle Cannatella of "The Real World" fifth -- after Mr. Firestone knocked her out with a better full house 30 minutes into the program, sending her to the "Loser's Lounge." Ms. Cannatella proceeded to drape herself across the "Sofa of Shame" and banter with show hosts. Each loser left with $5,000 for a charity of choice. Mr. Firestone appeared on the third season of "The Bachelor" in 2003.
